Selected Case Studies
Open each project to see the delivery challenge, the work undertaken and what the experience demonstrates. These examples are from prior professional roles.
Challenge: Five operational buildings were affected by constraints in the broader programme.
Response: Worked with the joint venture on revised recovery programmes, critical path activities and resource alignment. Short-term planning, procurement control and contemporaneous records helped guide delivery decisions and support the EOT and commercial position.
Takeaway: A recovery programme must reflect actual resources, procurement dates and the construction method.
Challenge: Long-lead structural steel and restricted access threatened delivery within an operational maintenance facility.
Response:Established the baseline programme and progress reporting, sequenced steel from shop drawings and approval through fabrication and erection, and developed methods around access constraints. Documentation was kept alongside programme updates to make emerging risks and entitlements visible.
Takeaway: Procurement and access constraints belong in the construction programme before they become site problems.
Challenge: Scope, responsibilities and baseline needed clarity during a live rail station upgrade.
Response: Defined the works and agreed the baseline programme with the client, then introduced clearer team roles, KPIs and deliverables. Project documentation controls improved visibility of progress, risk and commercial matters.
Takeaway: Scope, ownership and a credible baseline are the starting point for project control.
